Being
a tall, fair, smart, clean-shaven, well-educated boy, with a very good
job (aren't we all?) my parents are obviously busy scouring the world
looking for a fairly tall, smart, thin, well-educated
girl, with a very good job (aren't they all?).
All
the usual avenues are being persued - every auntie, uncle, cousin, neighbour,
distant relative, work colleague, Tom, Dick and Harbans has been notified,
briefed and been handed a dodgy 6 year old photograph of me.
I've
been introduced to every kind of girl there is. Plain ones, smart ones,
modern ones, homely ones, thin ones, plumpish ones and even older ones
(no divorcees as yet) but all to no avail. I am too fussy apparently.
So
I will continue visiting strangers houses on the other side of the country,
having blind dates with girls that I meet in Leicester Square and being
asked to dance with girls at wedding receptions until that one day arrives
when I finally meet someone that I CLICK with...

Your parents
are always remonstrating with you because cousin so-and-so married a doctor,
or wealthy business man, or rich girl, and WHY CAN'T YOU!! That's all
I can think of right now, but I'm sure I'll come up with more of them!
